There is one suicide death in the US every 11.5 minutes. As of march 15, 2022 Suicide is the second-leading cause of death among people age 15 to 24. White males account for 70% of those deaths.

Stop Suicide Stigmas & Support The Bereaved With Kindness
- Suicide is not a criminal act! Stop saying "committed suicide" which is insensitive. Instead say, "died by suicide"
- Not every suicide is linked to drugs/alcohol. Don't assume!!!
- The people who appear the happiest can sometimes be struggling the most
- A person doesn't end their life to die they are only trying to escape tremendous pain & suffering
- Depression can be invisible & can be hard to diagnose
- Teens have an underdeveloped brain up until the age of 26 years
- Teen depression often resembles normal teen behavior
- You are not to blame!!!
- Suicide death can be planned or it can be impulsive and unplanned
- No one should be shamed or judged...especially the loved one whose life has ended
- Suicide can happen to absolutely anyone! It does not discriminate!
- Suicide attempts and deaths are still on the rise...
- Suicide is tragic and often leaves a trail of trauma and PTSD symptoms with the bereaved family members
- Suicidal survivors (those left behind) need lots of love and support for years! Not just the first few months
- Suicide survivors often feel isolated and alone on this journey
- Grief lasts an entire lifetime & suicide grief is extremely complex
